“Great Junction”

Tonight is what people are calling the “Great Junction”.
It is a time when the Planets Jupiter and Saturn will align crossing paths within the view of the Earth.
As one studying religion will know, Astronomy / Astrology have been intertwined with spiritual understanding, rituals, and sciences. Whether it is a new age movement obsessed with “aliens” or ancient Solar worship of the Indo-Europeans and Sumerians, the Gods being associated with planets, stars and energy from them has been around since Proto-Religions.

Many temples from around the world were designed to align with the stars and planets, and or rising and setting of the sun.

There is one thing that the majority of spirituality has in common besides Solar and star worship and that is the belief in different Eras. Be these Eras represented by a Zodiac, a set phase or Yuga, a coming of savior, the change of climate, or various other parameters the planets and their movements have always been a meter for measuring when these Ages or Eras will change.

Given the context of the year 2020 and how it has treated many people, some feel that this phenomenon could be a bad Omen signaling the end of society, the world as we know it, and the climax of the start of an apocalyptic end times. Be this a return of an Indo-European Solar hero or an Abrahamic “messiah”.

Others see this as a sign of good change. The end of an era of turmoil, the rise of an age of enlightenment, or a small pocket of Golden age within the Yuga.

Even in the strife and flames often new life and rebirth is sprung from the ashes.

The auspiciousness of this event is that it is also taking place on Yule / Winter Solstice.

Does this signal the return of a golden age?
The return to spirituality?
Extreme advancements of technology and space travel?
The climax before a large change be it good or bad?
Or does this signal the end?
What is your thoughts or personal beliefs?

Zeus / Jupiter.

Another Divine interpretation of the Indo European Sky Father Dyēus Phter. The example of the father, husband, ruler, and masculinity be itself. Often also seen as synonymous with the sun and solar tradition. Whether the examples are of certain morality or of interpretations of the divinity within life the sky father is the predominantly the keeper of the balance between chaos and order. A balance that the world could use right now.

Oh Zeus, father Zeus, Yours is the Kingdom of Heaven, and you watch men’s deeds, the crafty and the right, and You are who cares for beasts’ transgression and justice.
–Archilochus, Fragment 177

Does this sound familiar?
Just because Christianity adopted and changed Dyēus Phter to meet their own intentions, doesn’t mean we should stray away from the King of the Gods. The sky father. Whether seen as an archetype or a reflection of the actual King of the Heavens through Zeus, Odin / Tyr, Indra, The Hindu Trimūrti , or various others in the Indo-European and European pagan traditions, Dyēus Phter is an important governing figure to European Paganism.
