Indo-European Norse Will of Gaut

In Thanks to Jacob Grimm

Jacob (Ludwig Karl) Grimm was a German philologist, jurist, and folklorist. Him and his younger brother Wilhelm were known as the Brothers Grimm.
Often when his name is mentioned people think of the Grimm’s Fairytales which include various allegorical folk lore that the brothers learned in their travels and on their studies.

Until recently most of these tales would be taught to children of grade school and younger. Though with the current distain for Western culture that seems to be pervasive today I’m sure this isn’t the case.

That aside, I feel that often people think of the Brother’s Grimm and the fairytales and overlook the actual religious and linguistic impact on Germanic and Indo-European studies that Jacob Grimm had a direct impact on.

A major discovery by Grimm is called Grimm’s Law of linguistics which shows how Indo-European languages had a phonic shift over time resulting in words of similar origins sounding different. Much of his work was used to construct a more fuller understanding of Indo-European languages in general.

“Proto-Indo-European voiceless stops change into voiceless fricatives.
Proto-Indo-European voiced stops become voiceless stops.
Proto-Indo-European voiced aspirated stops become voiced stops or fricatives (as allophones).
This chain shift (in the order 3,2,1) can be abstractly represented as:

bʰ > b > p > f
dʰ > d > t > θ
gʰ > g > k > x
gʷʰ > gʷ > kʷ > xʷ”

More over he authored the Deutsches Wörterbuch which is considered the most comprehensive dictionary of Germanic languages ever made.

More over he wrote Deutsche Mythologie which was a book on philological, historical, folkloristic, and poetic aspects of the pre-Christian Germanic religion. In this he made open comparisons of Germanic Gods such as the different names for Thor (Donar, Thunor, etc). It was one of the first comparative writings that took seriously the Germanic faith or and form of Paganism as a religious and cultural experience.

While some of his studies may have been surpassed in the modern era. We owe a lot of our understanding and current approaches to the groundwork and scholarship that he had done before us.

If is for this we should thank him and give him more praise than we do.

Thank you Jacob Grimm for your hard work.

Great King Ælfrǣd is too white, straight, and male

In regards to an American University in New York claiming a statue of the Great King Ælfrǣd is too white, straight, and male.

One does not have to be the same race as you to be a shining example of quality. Also, everyone should be allowed to take pride in their race and the great people of their ancestry.
Especially if those exemplary ancestors have helped pave the way for the culture they live in and of the people who found the country.

An interesting note, as mentioned in the video below by Survive the Jive, Ælfrǣd (Wise-elf) did claim to be a descendant from the God Woden in a Euhemeristic manner. This is interesting as it shows that, despite being a Christian, having ancestral ties and connections to the ancient Saxon Gods gave him a direct folk lineage. Of course, this would go back to Hengest and Horsa the divine twins of Germanic origins before it would go back to Woden king of the Gods.
As I have mentioned in a previous article, even Thomas Jefferson who was one of the U.S Founding fathers, proposed using Hengest and Horsa as a symbol for the Union.
It could be inferred that the goal was to put America in line with the Saxon Gods as well as the Germanic progenitors.

While the Saxon’s did fight against the Viking Pagan invasion, it can be said that the Old Saxon version of Christianity wasn’t very Christian by today concepts and was more akin to a Folkish Pagan mixture of Romanesque Christianity mixed with Heathenism.

Here are a few take away lessons from this.
One people of a victimhood mindset will find oppression and inequality everywhere.
Ironically if they were to look up to the individual being honored as a source of inspiration they would rise out of the victimhood mentality and better themselves.
Secondly, Paganisms influence on the West was never extinguished fully, and that Pagans can still look upon so-called “Christian” ancestors as examples of great western men and Indo-European leaders.

Hail the Saxon ancestors!
Hail the Gods!
Hammer and Vajra!

P.S I am not making any bold claims of professional scholarship in Saxon heathenry or in British history.
I am also not addressing the anti-masculinity and anti-family statements being made about being masculine and straight….. as that is obvious trite Marxist slogans that everyone should recognize by now.
